Professional History:
After graduating from Harvard Law School in 1985, Mr. Sands practiced
with the law firms of Shearman & Sterling in New York City and Greenburg
Traurig in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, before joining the U.S. Department
of Justice as a trial attorney focusing on the prosecution of tax and
financial crimes. He returned to private practice in Central Florida in
1994. He has served on the nine-member Advisory Committee on the Local
Rules for the Middle District of Florida, and as a member of the Federal
Magistrate Judge Selection Committee for the Orlando Division of the Middle
District of Florida. He has received an "AV" rating from the
Martindale-Hubble National Legal Directory.
Practice Areas:
In addition to the practice areas set forth in the firm's home page, Mr.
Sands represents defendants in white collar criminal cases in the areas
of tax fraud, bank fraud, securities fraud, internet-related offenses,
mail and wire fraud and other financial and business offenses.
